A Castelli cycling jersey has two functions: cooling your body and making you as aerodynamic as possible. These two critical functions cannot be accomplished unless your jersey fits optimally.
On your bike, the Castelli jersey fits close to the skin. Whilst riding, you dont feel or hear flapping fabric, and due to the moisture wicking properties of the materials, you feel cooler and dryer.
Off the bike , your Castelli jersey might feel tight across the chest and look a little short at the front. This is because the jersey is designed to fit the rider in the riding position. (A jersey that fits shorter and tighter while standing, becomes a perfectly fitted piece of performance clothing when you get into the cycling position).
Our fabrics are specifically engineered to wick moisture away from the skin. Our Prosecco treatment helps spread moisture more quickly and evenly, where it can then evaporate to cool your body, helping regulate temperature and thus improving performance.
The other important aspect of a close fitting jersey is the aerodynamic advantage it provides. We have designed our jerseys with the sleeves articulated forward into a natural riding postion to provide maximum body contact and comfort with minimum binding, wrinkles and excess fabric in both the front and back of the jersey.
A bibshort is just as important as the jersey in providing performance enhancing features such as aerodynamics and muscle support, as well as protecting your delicate areas from many hours sat in the saddle.
Bibshorts should fit tightly enough to support critical leg muscles through compression without inhibiting movement and constricting blood flow. Using a combination of fabrics allows us to fine tune each materials characteristics to optimize fit and performance.
