Rotor's new 2INpower meter has arrives in the UK – full gallery
Launched in Spain earlier this year, 2INpower has just arrived at Saddleback HQ and is now shipping throughout the UK.
Undoubtedly Rotor's most technologically advanced product to date, 2INpower combines INpower's spindle-based non-driveside set-up with new strain gauges on the driveside crankarm. The result is incredibly accurate, reliable and robust dual-leg power measurement, giving riders more data to play with in refining their performance.
Aside from measuring both legs independently, another difference compared to INpower is that the axle is connected to the driveside (for dependable, wired data collection), leaving the non-driveside crankarm to be held in place with a DTT bolt.
At the centre of the driveside crankarm is the unit's battery port. Hidden behind a simple, easily rotated cover, a magnetic clip attaches to charge the internal battery, which gives about 250 hours of riding per charge. The port is totally waterproof, keeping the electronics free from contaminants.
Up close, Rotor's usual machining precision is present and correct, the chunky, muscular 7015 aluminium crankarm design honed to perfection. Rotor's engineering team has ensured that the design loses none of the legendary performance of the Rotor 3D+ crankset and in fact, 2INpower is the stiffest crankset system Rotor has ever produced.
The Spanish brand added the red anodised accents after customers requested the ability to show off their power-meter using credentials to clubmates. They look fantastic, giving 2INpower that little bit of character that's begging to be matched with your bar tape or custom decals.
